Having friends visit really cuts into my nap time. Also, online time. Expect crankiness later.

Well, since you asked

My celebrity crush is George Clooney. Hubba Hubba, plus he’s a prankster, which is a sexy attribute in a man.

#Bewitched

For the 1st time in almost 9 years, I washed, conditioned and dried my long hair without interruption from kids. Thank you Wii. *sniff*

The kids have talked me into taking them to see Alvin and the Chipmimks: The Squeakuel at 1:00 today.
Pray for me.

Hey kids, go outside and play in the…mud. It’s 50 degrees in NY. Damn you freakishly warm December, you’re ruining my vacation.

I think I like this thing

So, after goofing around on Twitter for about 8 months I started my Tumblr account.
In a week I’ve seen respect, creativity, and generosity. And funny. Not bad for 4 days.
So, yeah… I think I’ll stay for a while. It sure beats bickering and pettiness. Oh, you’ve been to my house too?

Totally worth it

I think I must have broken some kind of record for continuous eating. I have been chewing and digesting for the past 9 hours. Except when I was drinking sangria.
Yum.
Is there any more cheese cake?

Creating a new tradition

Some of you have figured this out. My family does not celebrate Christmas.
When I was growing up in Eastern PA it was easy for my parents to provide my sister and I with fun activities on Xmas. We went to the movies, went ice skating or bowling and had Chinese fir dinner. We did it every year until I was in high school. We hung out with our other Jewish friends.
As an adult, I started going to Atlantic City on Christmas. My parents and sister’s family were there along with a large number of friends and other family. It was a lot of fun. We’d see familiar faces at every casino and restaurant. I went every year until 2000, when I was too pregnant to travel.
Now my kids are old enough to process that we don’t have anything to do with the holiday. But they want to feel festive. And I do too. So we’ve created something new in our family. We have a party on the Saturday after Christmas.
So yesterday we spent the day cooking, cleaning and dancing. We had the TV on all day with Xmas movies (which I love) and NOBODY bickered. With almost 9 twins, that is a major accomplishment.
We had a great day.
And now, it is 6:30 am. I’m lying in bed writing this (the mister HATES all this) and I can hear my kids downstairs making decorations for the table. They are truely lovely when they get along.
I love the holiday season.
